SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

PRESENTATION TYPES
During the abstract submission process, authors must select only one preferred presentation type. Final decision on abstract category will be made by the scientific committee.

  • Oral presentation (OC)

The author will be asked to submit a PowerPoint (slide size widescreen/16:9) presentation by 22 June 2023.

Each oral presentation will have 15 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion.

How to submit your Power Point?

– Save your Power Point file with the name: ECNDT2023_PRESENTATION_<number abstract>

– Send your file for this e-mail: ecndt2023.abstracts@aimgroup.eu

– Submit your presentation until 22 June 2023.

If you do not agree with the publication of your Presentation(s) on NDT.net, please share your disagreement on the e-mail with the Power Point.

  • Poster presentation (P)

The author is responsible to print and bring a poster in A0 portrait format to the conference. Poster area will be open during the entire conference (3-7 July 2023) with special attention during a poster evening on 3rd July 2023.Authors with the best Posters will have the opportunity to present them orally in the Poster Area. The Scientific Committee will approve abstracts for Poster Presentation on scientific merit. Each Poster presentation will have 5 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion on 6th July 2023, between 13:10 and 14:10:

  • 13:10 – 13:20:  P90 – THz computed tomography for non-destructive testing / Elisabeth Leiss-Holzinger
  • 13:20 – 13:30:  P149 – State of aging classification of modified-hp steel tubes by Eddy current test applying machine learning / Ana Carolina Brandão
  • 13:30 – 13:40:  P230 – Temperature-Controlled in-situ Tensile Tests of Polymer Tape with Single Particles / Sarah Heupl
  • 13:40 – 13:50:  P311 – Evaluating capacitive imaging for Powder Bed Fusion Metal Additive Manufacturing / Luís Rosado
  • 13:50 – 14:00:  P367 – NAUT application and signal analysis for detecting the unsoundness inside EV battery packs and all-solid-state batteries / SeongJin Lim

We strongly recommend also to use the break moments to present and discuss your Poster(s).

Important Information for Corresponding Authors:

 

Abstracts Submission:

  • The corresponding author must be the presenting author (abstract submissions by co-authors will not be allowed);
  • Corresponding authors may present more than one abstract, in such cases an additional amount of €200,00 in the registration fee will be requested, per abstract.
  • All abstracts must be submitted in the online submission platform by 31 October 2022;
  • The size of the abstract must have a minimum of 300 and maximum of 400 words overall (title, authors and institutions, references, acknoledgements and keywords included);
  • Use single-line spacing in the text;
  • All submissions must be in the English language. Translation into other languages will not be provided;
  • Corresponding authors are required to provide the following information on their abstract:
  • Preferred presentation type: oral communication or poster
  • Conference Topic and Subtopic (choose from list)
  • Scientific Scope (choose from list):

 

A – NDT Method: (choose one)

  • Visual inspection
  • Dye Penetrant or Magnetic particles
  • Ultrasound
  • Radiology and other wavelength (Infrared, Microwave, THz, etc)
  • Electric and Electromagnetic

 

B – Inspected Material: (choose one)

  • Metals
  • Polymers
  • Ceramics
  • Composites
  • Other

 

C – Application: (choose one)

  • Materials characterization
  • Products (during manufacturing)
  • Products (after manufacturing)
  • Products (in service)
  • Metrology
  • Other

The abstract body must contain the following sections:

  • Introduction/motivation
  • Objectives
  • Work performed
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • References, Acknowledgements, Keywords

Corresponding authors are responsible for the accuracy of their submission, including the grammar and correct spelling, as well as the names of authors and institutions;
Corresponding authors may present and co-author more than one abstract (upon payment of additional amount in the registration fee, per abstract);
Final decision on presentation type will be made by the scientific committee.

Abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

A) Is related to scope?
B) The topic is original and relevant?
C) Gives a contribute to the state of art?
D) The results are interesting?
E) The findings are coherent and relevant?

  • Abstracts will be accepted as oral communication or poster or rejected by the Scientific Committee;
  • Submitters will receive an acceptance/rejection letter(s) via email after 20 December 2022;
  • Authors whose abstract was accepted must register via the online form and pay the registration fee, which is non-refundable, until 10 February 2023; The contributions from authors who have not paid the registration fee until this date will be cancelled;

 

Papers Submission:

  • Papers of the accepted abstracts must be submitted by the corresponding authors for inclusion in the conference proceedings by 10 February 2023.
  • Corresponding authors must upload the Paper in the online platform using the account created for abstracts submission using the Paper template and complying with guidelines and formatting.
  • Paper must be upload in PDF format.
  • Corresponding authors will be requested to agree with the flowing Publishing and Submission Agreement statement:

  • Notification on papers evaluation will be made via email after 25 March 2023.
  • Papers may be accepted or accepted with changes – if accepted with changes corresponding authors may revise their papers until 15 April 2023;
  • Final notification on Papers will be sent after 15 May 2023.

If your abstract was accepted for a contribution at #ECNDT2023, it is not mandatory to submit a Paper. This means you can present  your work (poster or oral communication) at #ECNDT2023 without submitting a Paper.
